CHARCOAL DRAWING - Cowboy turning in saddle at full gallop to fire musket at pursuer, by Remington Schuyler (NY, 1884-1955), ca 1927, signed on right below mountain, inscribed 'To the Happy Family' and with his 'Red Buffalo' seal, the consignor remembers his father posing for the artist astride a barrel, in a fumed oak frame, no glass, SS: 18" x 29 1/2", OS: 20" x 31 1/2", toned, chipped upper right edge and right edge, several scuffs and indents, frame damaged. A scarce example of a well-known Western illustrator's work.
