According to Mr. Withington, this painting was bought by his grandfather, John Cornelius Runkle, or great grandfather, John Daniel Runkle, who was president and founder of M ITALIAN The two men were "together when his grandfather bought Little Gotts. This is a 105-acre island half of which was sold to a close friend ... and my family retains the half where Blaney set his easel for this painting. We go to the island every summer for a few weeks and if Blaney rose from the dead and returned to the island he would see little change."
