Item Overview

Description

EASTMAN, GEORGE American inventor and philanthropist (1854-1932); founded Kodak in 1892, making use of his new paper photographic film; largely responsible for making photography a way for ordinary people to capture life's moments, rather than the expensive and difficult hobby it had been. Great display Typewritten Letter Signed "Geo. Eastman," 1/3 page, oblong 8vo, on imprinted Eastman Kodak Company stationery, Rochester, NY, July 11, 1919. To Jason Rogers of New York, he writes, "The copy of your book, 'Building Newspaper Advertising,' about which you wrote me on June 30th, has just come to hand and I shall look it over with great interest at the earliest opportunity..." Age-toned, otherwise in very good condition. This letter bears an especially large and bold signature that will display beautifully.
