ABOUT THE ART

California artist Eddie Colla, who has been up in the streets of LA for a decade, recently had one of his images “appropriated” by WalMart and sold as a “Banksy” to unsuspecting customers of the world-destroying mega-chain. To retaliate, the artist has created a print celebrating the cognitive dissonance created by Wal Mart’s use of his image. He explains more in this interview with 1XRUN.

1xRun: It’s been a few years since you create this image and slogan – did you ever think it would be hijacked by Walmart and labeled a BANKSY?

Eddie Colla: That’s the irony, isn’t it? I made a piece about individuals controlling their own fate and not making their success contingent on the approval of others. It then gets adopted by a neo-feudal corporation like Walmart. A corporation whose employment practices have created a 2 million person underclass in this country. That’s where this becomes an issue of conviction. Walmart waves American Flags, kowtows to a hypocritical right wing Christian ideology but that’s merely a marketing strategy. If Walmart actually believed in any part of that ridiculous rhetoric they would certainly never put work by an artist like me in their stores.

Signari Gallery, LLC is also pleased to let you know that your item may have an Independent Authentication and that the accompanying Certificate (COA) enclosed with the item is proof of the items authenticity. This Certification of Authenticity does not imply that the item will be certified by any other rival authentication companies, the accompanied certification is the only certification Signari Gallery, LLC can confirm. These are items are being sold as collectable pieces, there is no guarantee that this item can be resold on any online marketplace. Each of these companies has their own policies and politics.

If we are prevented by fire, theft, or any other reason whatsoever from delivering any property to the purchaser, our liability shall be limited to the sum actually paid, by the purchaser for such property.

Signari Gallery, LLC is not a Live Auction House therefore there will be no "Live Bidders" you're up against. However we do have a lengthy mailing list and our clients will be calling with bids. Therefore "Floor" bids will represent bids we take by phone/text from our regular clients.

DISPUTES/ CHARGEBACKS

By participating in Signari Gallery, LLC Auction, the Bidder entirely agrees to the dispute resolution specified in the foregoing paragraph as the Bidder's SOLE means to resolve any and all disputes which may arise with Signari Gallery, LLC. By placing a bid, the Bidder specifically agrees that they will not file a dispute or charge back of any kind with an online venue, a credit card merchant, or any other third-parties. The Bidder specifically waives the right to initiate a credit card charge back dispute on any basis of claim and agrees that the Bidder will pay Signari Gallery, LLC a minimum of $300 plus hourly charges and costs for any such charge back dispute opened, due to the severe administrative burden of such disputes and their direct violation of the dispute provisions above. In the event that the Bidder violates this dispute resolution provisions, in consideration of Signari Gallery, LLC approval of the application of the Bidder to bid in Signari Gallery, LLC auction, Bidder confesses judgment to fraud having been committed by the Bidder against Signari Gallery, LLC and further agrees that the Bidder is liable to Signari Gallery, LLC for all damages, losses and costs, including time charges, resulting from charge backs or any claims. In the event that the Bidder has a complaint or dispute they are to contact Signari Gallery, LLC directly via email at Sales@SignariGallery.com

The placing of a bid shall constitute acceptance of the preceding terms and conditions.

Legal Action: Failure to complete the purchase in accordance with the terms provided herein and in the listing will cause the Bidder to be faced with all, or any combination of the following measures: elimination of all future bidding privileges on the hosting site; credit agency reporting; legal and/or collection action.

By bidding on this auction, you agree that in the event your payment is not received and/or honored or if Signari Gallery, LLC does not receive settled funds for your purchase, that any necessary collection proceedings and/or legal action shall be brought in Supreme Court of Nevada and you are agreeing that you are submitting to the jurisdiction of said court in the unlikely event that you do not pay for your purchase.

Through our pictures and descriptions, we try and give our customers the best possible feel for the condition of our items. Occasionally you may notice that an item is re-listed. This can be due to a variety of reasons such as a winning Bidder in a previous auction not paying for the item, multiple types of the same item or it is one of the few items listed with a reserve and the reserve was not met.

There are times in which we encounter excessive delays obtaining the lots from our sources, so this may delay shipment. However, this is very uncommon. Under the rare occasion that a lot/s cannot be obtained from the consignor, the auction will be cancelled, and a 100% refund of your payment will be issued. If you happen to win a framed item or request custom framing on your item, please allow for an additional 3-4 weeks processing to accommodate your order.

When you signed up for Invaluable/AuctionZip or Live Auctioneers, you acknowledged and agreed that your bid is a binding contract. All sales are final. We expect that all bidders do any due diligence before placing bids. If you purchased an autographed item from us, you did so based on our Rules and Guidelines. When third party certification is included on an item, Signari Gallery LLC uses only Forensic Certification as it is the most trusted process in the country and the only certification accepted in a court of law. All resources we use for this process are Certified Handwriting Experts and their work and opinions are the only ones we value and trust. We don't work with nor do we condone working with companies who make exclusive agreements with other dealers/auction houses as it creates a bias in the industry. Forensic certification companies do not have any exclusive contracts with anyone so as to keep the work as honest and true as possible.
