An excellent example of Edna Earl Crocker's best work, this canvas is rich with thick impasto.

The present owner of the painting writes:

"Edna Earl Crocker lived across the street from our parent's home on Goodwin Street, Dallas, Texas. We think that the paintings we have may have been given as gifts or purchased by our parents and were exhibited in Dallas prior to 1927.

This bluebonnet painting was Papa's favorite and was in his possession as long as he lived (until 1996). It is also my favorite and I acquired it upon his death."
