Notes

Egisto Lancerotto enrolled at a young age in the local Academy in Venice. After following the traditional schooling of the Academy he began to break away and and develop a singular style. He specialized in genre scenes and portraits of local Venetians. He was a close friend of Giacomo Favretto who influence on the young artist was notable. There exist two identical versions of La Fioriai currently in private collections.
