Eileen Murray (1885-1962) Still life of flowers in a lustre vase Oil on canvas laid on board Signed with monogram Provenance: From the artist's estate Born in Templemore, Co Cork, Eileen was the daughter of Col. Chester. She became a pupil of Stanhope Forbes at Newlyn in Cornwall. She married Major F.S.J. Murray and lived for many years in India painting and exhibiting. She returned to Ireland in 1920 to Mosstown House, Kenagh, Co Longford, a house inherited by her husband. She soon started contributing to the RHA, Dublin Sketching Club and the Belfast Arts Society.
