Ella du Cane (1880-1940) "The Park of the Villa Monastero, Varenna, Lake Como" Signed, extensively inscribed on an exhibition label, together with a further label with biographical details on the artist, pencil and watercolour, 43.5cm by 29.5cm Provenance: Richard Green, 147 New Bond Street, London, stock no. AT122 The artist exhibited at the RI from 1893 and at the Fine Art Society in 1910. She illustrated books including The Flowers and Gardens of Madeira written by her mother. The work is sold with a book entitled The Italian Lakes, painted with views by the artist and described by Richard Bagot.
