half length portrait study of John Laird, 1st member of Parliament for Birkenhead wearing a black coat and white stick, 76 x 64cm, the companion portrait of his wife, 76 x 64cm; Josiah Gilbert (1814-1892): a three quarter length portrait study of John Laird, 1st member of Parliament for Birkenhead, seated in a chair, pastels, signed and dated 1847, 50 x 39cm, and the companion portrait of his wife, a further portrait of a lady by the same hand dated 1856, and a hand coloured photographic print of Mrs Louisa Helen Laird, 24 x 19.5cm, in decorative gilt gesso frame and rosewood outer frame lined in plush velvet.
