Erik van Lieshout lives and works in Rotterdam. Over the past few years, van Lieshout has based his drawing and video installations on highly personal excursions that open one can of 'socio-political' worms after another. He makes poignant films that represent the pulsing rhythm of his life today. Van Lieshout's works are upfront, often exhibitionist and provocative. Selected solo exhibitions include Galerie Guido W. Baudach, Berlin (2009); Centre d'édition contemporaine, Geneva (2009); Stella Lohaus Gallery, Antwerp (2009); the Ludwig and the Rheingold Collection Museum Ludwig, Cologne (2009); Maccarone Gallery, New York (2009); Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art - MASS MoCA (2007); North Adams, Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus & Kunstbau, Munich (2007); and Kunsthaus Zürich, Zürich (2007). Selected group shows include the 4th Berlin Biennial, Berlin (2006), and the travelling exhibition Populism, Kunstverein Frankfurt, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, National Museum of Art Architecture and Design in Oslo, and Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius (2005). In Witte de With he participated in the groups shows Tracer (2004) and Satellite of Love (2005).

Marc Bijl was educated at the Royal Academy of Art & Design in 's Hertogenbosch and the Rennie Macintosh School of Art in Glasgow. In 2004 he was awarded the Charlotte Koehler prize for Young Art. Bijl is interested in the symbolic occurrence of social and political events. His work draws on labels, logo's, symbols, political and other slogans, prayers and advertisements, and his interventions aim to undermine or underline our perception of the world we live in. He has had solo shows at the Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel (2008); Upstream Gallery, Amsterdam (2008); The Breeder, Athens (2006); Gem Museum, The Hague (2005); Museum Valkhof, Nijmegen (2004); and the Giorgio De Chirico Art Center, Volos (2004). He has participated in many group shows such as Crop Rotation, Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York (2008); Athens Biennial (2007); Moscow Biennial (2007); Brave New World, CoBrA Museum, Amstelveen (2007); Loneliness of Signs, Kunstmuseum Stuttgart (2006); Naked Life, Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (2006); DARK, Museum Boymans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam (2006); Superstars, Kunstforum Vienna (2005) and the travelling exhibition Populism, presented at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Vilnius, the Museum for Architecture, Art and Design in Oslo, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Kunstverein in Frankfurt (2005).
