Ernest Albert ANA, American 1857-1946- Boats in a harbour with mill; oil on board, signed, 24.5x19.8cm Provenance: with Fenwick's, 263 Sierra, Reno, Nevada, according to stamp on the reverse Note: Ernest Albert was born in Brooklyn, NY. Albert began his career as a scenic painter and theater designer for the Brooklyn Theater. Founder of the American Society of Scenic Painters and was a member of many art associations including the New Canaan Society of Artists, the Chicago Society of Artists and the Grand Central Gallery. His work was shown in selected exhibitions at Vose Galleries in Boston and Rockefeller Centre in NYC. During his lifetime, Albert exhibited at the Brooklyn Art Association, the St. Louis Sketch Club, the New Canaan Society of Artists, the Highland Park Art Museum, and the Grand Central Art Gallery.
