Notes

This drawing accords well in technique, size and style with a group illustrating scenes from the Life of Christ and the Acts of the Apostles, which François Marandet has recently published and convincingly attributed to Etienne Parrocel. (1) They are scattered in various museums but must originally have been made as a series.

We are most grateful to Yves Di Domenico for informing us that he believes these drawings to be by Pierre Parrocel (1670-1739), rather than Etienne. (2 )
