EUGENE BONFANTI THURSTON (American, 1896-1993) Aspen Landscape Oil on canvas 30 x 40 inches (76.2 x 101.6 cm) Signed lower right: Eugene Thurston In Aspen Landscape, Eugene Thurston depicts a road lined with glowing, golden aspen trees. The colors are expressionistic and beautifully intensify those found in nature. This painting is a stunning example of this artist's work. Thurston, son of artist Fannie "Fern" Thurston, grew up and lived in El Paso, Texas. He traveled and painted throughout the country and around the world, but spent most of his time on western landscapes.

Very good condition with minor stretcher crease along top edge.
