NOTE

This portrait miniature was formally considered to be the Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich (1798-1849) who was the younger son of Russian Emperor Paul I, (whose elder sons Alexander and Nicholas became Russian Emperors). However the uniform and decorations indicate that the sitter is more likely to be a Portuguese nobleman.
