Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th centuryA pair of kakejiku (vertical hanging scrolls), ink on paper in silk mounts with ivory jikusaki (roller-ends), depicting Ebisu (right) and Daikoku (left), two of the Gods of Good Fortune; each sealed Na-tsu-o and Nihon kinko (Japanese metalwork); with a wood tomobako storage box inscribed Ebisu Daikoku tsuifuku Senko Natsuo shohitsu Taisho jusannen kinoe-nedoshi risshu no hi Kano Akio kore o shikisu (A pair of scrolls of Ebisu and Daikoku, a true work from the brush of my father Natsuo, recorded by Kano Akio in mid-August 1924) and sealed Shusui. Each overall: 175.5cm x 42.3cm (69 1/8in x 16 5/8in); image: 91cm x 25.2cm (35¾in x 10in). (3).
