Fabio Colonna (1567-1640) Letter with autograph signature by the botanist and naturalist, among the first enrolled in the Accademia dei Lincei of Naples, of which Colonna was councellor and attorney. Colonna's scientific arguments were flanked by considerable knowledge of music, mathematics, astronomy and mechanics, as shown by the correspondence with Galileo Galilei and the publication of his Sambuca Lincea in Naples in 1618.
