註：UCCL這一書畫珍藏共涉及十一位畫家。這十一位藝術家之間，又有著千絲萬縷的交往與聯繫，若梳理其中的線索，一組乃徐悲鴻以及同輩藝術家齊白石、陳樹人、汪亞塵、許士騏；餘者張安治、費成武、張蒨英乃悲鴻高足，皆追隨悲鴻多年，並於一九四六年同期負笈倫敦；陳文希則早在三十年代便曾得到悲鴻的指點與提攜，吳詠香和陳隽甫畢業於北平藝專，乃齊白石親授弟子；而徐悲鴻與齊白石的交誼，更是藝壇耳熟能詳的佳話。正如施福先生前文所敘，這批畫作匯集與捐贈的細節已不可考，但最終能夠完整保留，則有賴於吳藹宸博士與其故交歐文·拉蒂摩爾教授。吳藹宸博士與拉蒂摩爾教授，兩位中國邊疆問題專家，最遲在四十年代的重慶已經相識，彼時拉蒂摩爾教授擔任蔣介石顧問，美國副總統華萊士一九四四年訪華期間，吳博士與拉蒂摩爾教授皆隨侍在側。本已塵封於歷史數十年的兩個名字，竟因UCCL珍藏的中國書畫，再度為世人所知，人生的際遇，何其不可測也。
