1982. An early iconic work. Signed in gilt Agudelo-Botero Orlando, dated 82 lower left. Mixed media, original, acrylic, gilt and pulled paper on black painted paper. Framed in a brass-mounted black lacquer frame and matted. Overall very good condition. 40x51 inches.

&cf. Agudelo-Botero Orlando, born 1946 in Colombia, employs a bold color palette with gold and silver enhancements. His loosely drawn, nearly abstract representations of youths combine a modern, free form aesthetic with a personal humanist philosophy. "I struggle in each and every piece to discover something about humanity and to attempt to communicate it." The artist's contemporary execution and his soulful compositions project a timeless spirituality inspired by both his religious and Colombian heritage.
