Notes

Edith Helena Mond was the wife of Sir Robert Mond, and died prematurely following the birth of their second daughter.

Ferdinand Seeboeck was born in Vienna, and studied at the Vienna Academy between 1880 and 1883. He first visited Italy in 1885, living initially in Florence, before establishing himself in Rome from 1889 onwards. It was a chance encounter with Sir Robert's Mond's parents in Florence, and their consequent financial support, that enabled his career-making move to Rome. Known predominantly for large scale religious works, he was also an accomplished portraitist.
