Sa peinture arrive a maturité durant ses années parisiennes de 1953 à 1964. De cette période prolifique sont produites les oeuvres plus recherchées par les collectionneurs. La pièce de 1963 mise en vente ici en est un parfait exemple. La puissance et la pureté des lignes associée aux couleurs caractéristiques font de cette huile une pièce de choix pour toute collection d’art abstrait québécois. Early member of Le Refus Global and former signatory member of the Automatist Movement, Marcelle Ferron, Borduas’ student, is a figure in Quebec Art. She lived in Paris from 1953 to 1964, this is a prolific period for Ferron as she achieves artistic maturity in her painting. She also paints her most sought after works at that time and this particular piece from 1963 is a striking example. The power and purity of the lines in conjunction with the distinctive palette make this oil a pièce de choix for any abstract art collection.

Conditions

A buyer's premium of 20% will be added to the
hammer price of each lot and is payable by the buyer as
part of the purchase price.
Lots are sold to the highest bidder. In case of dispute, the
decision of the auctioneer will be final. Lots should be picked
up immediately after the sale. Purchasers must pay for their
lots on delivery. An interest charge of two (2) % per month
will be charged to buyers on all overdue accounts. Payment by cash, cheque, money-order (CAN or US currency) and credit cards Visa and MasterCard are accepted for payments up to five thousand (5000) Canadian Dollars.
All bids are in Canadian funds. Bids in US funds will be
converted at the prevailing exchange rate.
Should a purchaser wish to submit an item for expertization,
the auctioneer must be notified and the lot paid at the time
of sale. If the lot proves to be not as described, the purchaser's
money shall be repaid in full.
Material described as having defects are not returnable on
account of condition. No lots may be returned by persons
who have had the opportunity to examine the material
before the sale.
Any returns for whatever reason must be made within thirty
(30) days of receipt of lot(s). Champagne Auctions are
obligated to pay all consignement lots within this amount
of time.
The auctioneer reserves the right to group two (2) or more
lots and also to withdraw any lot or lots from sale.
The placing of a bid shall constitute acceptance of the
foregoing conditions of sale. Bids will be executed by the
auctioneer.
Bidding increments are at the discretion of the auctioneer.
Mail, fax, phone or online bids are entered on a first bid
received basis. In the event of a tie bid, the first bid received
has priority.

Shipping Terms

Canadian Customers Taxes

The G.S.T. of 5 % for Canadian
residents and the Q.S.T. of 9.975 % for Quebec residents ( or
the H.S.T. for residents of the participating provinces) are also
applicable to all successful bids as part of the purchase price.
