Notes

This image was honoured, very shortly after it was made, with inclusion by Dr Otto Steinert in his second 'Subjektive Fotografie' exhibition. It captures key aspects of experimental modernist post-war photography that Steinert was influential in promoting, notably a high contrast printing that abstracted the subject matter, and the use of deliberate blur to convey the idea of movement.
