Description

FEUERHAHN Hermann (*20. 5. 1873 Hildesheim - 1941or after 1955 Berlin) Personification of Fortune Patinated cast bronze, height 52 cm, undated, signed H. FEURHAHN, mark of a well-known German metal foundry Gustav von Heinz & Barth from Berlin. This lot is an exotic female figure, the artist focused on the unusual dynamic movement. The motif of the dramatic action refers to the Classical Dionysia subjects. German sculptor, he studied in Hannover, Berlin and under C. Behrens in Wroclaw. He drew inspiration from his travels abroad e.g. Austria, Italy, America. After 1905 he was active in Berlin, he focused on art for architecture and cooperated with architect Otto Kaufmann (Neue Schauspielhaus in Berlin).
