BOLOGNA 1758 - 1844 ALLEGORY OF VIRTUE TRIUMPHING OVER VICE oil on canvas, a bozzetto 84 by 64 cm.; 33 by 25 1/4 in.

Just as his father and teacher Domenico (1728-1800) had done before him, Pedrini worked in the style of the Gandolfi family, the dominant artistic personalities of eighteenth-century Bologna, whose influence is inescapable in the present work. The attribution to Pedrini was first proposed by Dott.ssa Donatelli Biagi Maino (written communication with the present owner).
