The five books of plates contain views of the wonders of the world, Roman antiquities, Islamic and Chinese edifices, buildings designed by Fischer in Austria and Prague, including the palace of Schönbrun, and vases from antiquity. The first edition was published in Vienna in 1721, and this edition was produced after Fischer's death (in 1723) by his son, using the original copperplates.
