Description

This first edition chromolithograph is from Leopold Joseph Fitzinger's Bilder-Atlas zur wissenschaftlich-popularen Naturgeschichte der Saugethiere. The work was published in Vienna between 1860 and 1864. Fitzinger was an Austrian zoologist whose name is commemorated in the scientific names of five reptiles.
