Notes

Florence Mary Anderson also published under her maiden name, Molly MacArthur. Anderson's style varies from stylsed woodcuts in books such as Come Christmas (Collins, 1927) to highly detailed and coloured images as seen in the present lots. She is typical of the early 20th century, highly talented, illustrators who have fallen into relative obscurity in recent years.

Provenance:
Sotheby's London, October 27th 1982, Lot 108.
