FOUR ARCHAISTIC JADE PLAQUES

Late Qing Dynasty

The olive-green recumbent creature with legs tucked underneath the body, the face defined by an alert expression beneath pointed ears and behind a large snout; the large russet-brown 'S'-shaped serpent cradling a beaked bird on its side; the white dragon with trailing mane behind the head, the lower part of the figure broken, with edges of the stone stained black; the small olive-green horned serpent gnawing at its tail to form a loop, the stone with rough surface and stained black in areas. Russet-brown serpent: 7/8in (12.4cm) long;
White dragon: 3 3/4in (9.5cm) wide;
Olive-green horned serpent: 2 3/4in (7cm) wide
