FOUR ARCHAISTIC JADE SWORD GUARDS

Late Qing Dynasty

Comprising one carved with a
chi dragon in high relief on one side, the reverse finely decorated with
taotie mask in low relief and incised lines, the center with a slit opening, the pale celadon stone stained black in areas; one guard of chevron shape with rounded corners, lightly incised with scroll patterns, a circular perforation through the center, the stone with degraded surface stained brown; one decorated with a
chi dragon within line borders and with scroll patterns on the reverse, the center perforated, the celadon stone with russet inclusions; one decorated with scroll panels and drilled through the center, the celadon stone with russet brown to one end. (4)
