Four Harper's Weekly Pages with Five Civil War Woodcut Illustrations,

1861, 1862, three sketched by Larkin Mead (1835-1910) titles include: The Army of the Potomac-Furious Attack of the Rebels on Kirby's Battery at the Battle of Fair Oaks, The Army of the Potomac-Captain Wheeler's Battery Struck by Lightning, and A Band of Rebels Firing Into the Cars Near Tunstall's Station, Virginia, June 13, 1862; two unattributed sketches titled: The Army of the Potomac-Arriving at Yorktown From Williamsburg, The Union Gunboat "Essex" (Commander Porter) Destroying the Rebel Iron-Clad Ram "Arkansas" in the Mississippi, (toning), sight sizes ranging from 4 7/8 x 14-9 3/4 x 14 in., all matted, unframed.

Note: During the first year of the Civil War, sculptor and illustrator Larkin Mead was an artist for Harper's Weekly, and was embedded with the army of the Potomac, the major Union Army in the eastern theater of the American Civil War.
