Francis Wilfred Lawson, British 1842-1935- A penitent woman in an interior; oil on canvas, signed with initials, bears inscribed label F W Lawson Esq 61a Cadogan Square attached to the stretcher, 76x56.5cm., (unframed) Note: The artist Francis Wilfred Lawson exhibited at the RA 1867-84, the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, Grosvenor Gallery, Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Manchester City Art Gallery, New English Art Club, Royal Society of British Artists and elsewhere. His work is held by the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. He was the elder brother of the artist Cecil Gordon Watson 1851-1882.
