This very charming scene is similar to paintings by François, and the ladies wear dresses and hats very comparable to those that he depicted in his fashion plates. A pastel from the collection of the Marquis de Livois of a similar subject but with different measurements is listed in Gaëtane Maës's book, Les Watteau de Lille.υ1 1. See G.
