A young gentleman, seated in a pink upholstered gilt chair with his left arm leaning on a marble-topped gilt-wood table holding a book in his hand, in green coat with silver buttons, grey trousers, white waistcoat and stock, long powdered hair; draped red curtain with gold tassels and panelling background
signed and dated 'L. Hohr. Pix 1797.' (lower left)
2 1/4 in. (57 mm.) diam., gilt-metal frame, the reverse with ivory urn on a plinth with inscription 'SOUVENIR D'AMITIE' on striped hair ground scattered with stars
