Description

Hep van Delft 1921-1999 Hep van Delft studied drawing after the war and then became a set designer for theatre. He worked for the Nederlands Volkstoneel, De Rotterdamse Comedie and the youth company Arena, among others, and he became famous when he became the permanent designer of the Haagse Comedie in 1956. He remained so until 1970. After that, he was a regular designer with Toneelgroep Theater for several years. Between 1960 and 1974, Van Delft designs sets for television productions several times and plays some supporting roles in stage productions involving De Rotterdamse Comedie or de Haagse Comedie. In the play Quadrille, he is set designer as well as playing the butler. Comes from the collection of the municipality of The Hague, The Netherlands.
