Friedrich Bischoff (Ansbach 1819-1873 Erlangen) Children's Prayer, monogrammed and dated FB (in ligature) 1843, Oil on canvas, 48 x 38 cm, framed (mounted in an arched passepartout), (Rei) Friedrich Bischoff: He studied between 1835-1842 at the Visual Artst Academy in Munich. From 1845 he was a member of the Munich Artist's Association, but was forced to return to Ansbach by a serious illness. As well as group pictures and portraits, Bischoff painted genre pictures, which were much sought-after and also published as lithographs. Works by Bischoff can be found today in countless private collections.
