Oil on cradled panel, signed and dated 1882 in the lower right corner, approx. 9-1/4" x 15-3/8", framed in a wide ornate gilt frame overall approx. 19" x 25". Prov: Purchased by the current owner at Phillips New York, sale no. 467, October 29, 1982, lot no. 131 (mis-ascribed at that time).: Small dot of black pigment on top of the varnish near the upper center in the sky. Surface soils and yellowed varnish.
