* Gage (Edward, 1925-2000). 'Metamorphosis', 1951, pencil on paper, signed and dated, 23.5 x 32cm (9.25 x 12.75ins), framed and glazed, Aitken Dott (The Scottish Gallery) label to verso, together with other related photocopied text. Edward Gage was born in Gullane, East Lothian and studied at the Edinburgh College of Art. He produced theatre designs and illustration work, particularly for the Radio Times, from the 1950s onwards. The present work was included in the exhibition Beyond Illustration, held at the Scottish Gallery in February 1988. (1)
