Condition Report

One panel appears sound, the other has a vertical fine crack through the centre. Both have signs of craquelure, most prominent in the foreground with signs of bitumen in the dark pigments. Both appear dirty. Under ultraviolet light there appear to be some signs of retouching in the dark pigments of the foreground in both works. Also some retouching to the vertical crack mentioned above, discoloured slightly and visible to naked eye. Both held under glass in matching gilt composite frames; unexamined out of glass.
