Given to a friend of the present owner by a member of the Dashwood family of West Wycombe Park, Buckinghamshire.

Notes

George Cuitt (1743-1818) was a Yorkshire painter who, after studying in Italy, returned to his native country for health reasons and settled in Richmond. He exhibited local topographical landscapes at the Royal Academy from 1788 until 1798.
