A member of the Fort Worth Circle, George Grammer's work was primarily influenced by cubism, dominated by flattened shifting planes. This early, fine example of his work was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1952 as his entry in the National Juried Exhibition: "American Watercolors, Drawings and Prints 1952."
