Description

14" x 20", signed, dated, and titled. Important prairie architect, painter, and muralist. Niedecken collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright from 1904-1918. In 1907, he co-founded the Niedecken-Walbridge Co. with John Walbridge specializing in furniture, rugs, lighting, murals, and textiles in the Arts & Crafts aesthetic. Niedecken studied at the Milwaukee Art Institute and the aicz, as well as in Paris, with Alphonse Mucha. He was a founding member of the Milwaukee Society of Artists and the American Institute of Interior Decorators. He exhibited paintings at the aicz, pafaz, Chicago Architecture Club, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
