Description

George Walton, Scottish 1867-1933- A collection of drawings to include six botanical studies in pen and ink and ten watercolours with graphite depicting historical figures in grand interiors, various sizes, eight signed, nine dated, six titled, (unframed), (a lot) Note: George Henry Walton was a noted Glaswegian designer and architect. Greatly influenced by William Morris and James Whistler, he was a pioneer of the Glasgow Style of Arts and Crafts. In the 1880s, he assisted Charles Rennie Mackintosh with the interiors of Miss Cranston's Tearooms. He also designed antique dining chairs and antique cabinets for Liberty.
