Canvas is not lined. SURFACE: in good condition, overall; scattered craquelure UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: inpainting along the edges (particularly heavy along the right and lower edges); a few short, horizontal lines of inpaint scattered along foreground in grassy area just under figures; a spot in "dead-center" of painting (about 1/2 in. diam.); a few scattered , smaller spots at upper left and upper right; signature is under old varnish--inpainting underneath and nearby just grazes the lower part of the date.
