Description

Gilles Aegidius de Winter (Leeuwarden 1640 - 1720 Amsterdam) A musician by a tavern, oil on canvas, 41 x 50 cm, framed, (Wo) Gillis Aegidius de Winter was trained in the workshop of Richard Brakenburgh. He varied the compositions of his teacher and executed similar tavern and genre scenes that feature a characteristic palette; in general they are more "down to earth" than comparable works by Brakenburgh.
