The Calumny of Apelles (B. 64; B.L.L. 27)
engraving, 1560, watermark Two Columns Interlaced (Briquet 4435, dated Paris 1588), a very fine impression, printed in a warm brown-black ink, the third state (of six), the first published state, printing with fine polishing scratches, showing no signs of wear, trimmed to the subject on three sides and just into the subject below, a tiny skinned spot just above the central tablet below, a 23 mm. backed tear at the lower left sheet edge, another 4 mm. backed tear at the lower right sheet edge, a few unobtrusive pale stains in the lower part of the subject, otherwise in very good condition
S. 363 x 320 mm.
