Description

Giulio Cisari (1892-1979) Italian woodcut artist, and illustrator. He was also the author of publications on the woodcut technique. Official volunteer sharpshooters in the first and captain in World War II, he earned decorations for bravery. Inspired by the events of war his works like woodcut Defense Piave (Milano, Gall. of modern art), Victoria (Rome, centr Museum. Risorgimento), prize of the queen, and a series of drawings of 1942. Original woodcut, 1924, approx. 5-1/2 x 7-1/4 tipped to another sheet. VG
