D. 1669' and 'original by/ Cortona No. 98' and with number '98' (verso) black and red chalk, squared for transfer with black chalk, watermark encircled anchor with M and L, surmounted by a star (see Heywood nos. 5 and 6) 103⁄8 x 14 in.
