Gregory Richard Curnoe 1936 - 1992 Canadian colour silkscreen on plexiglas Mariposa T.T. A05F-E03131-001 42.5 x 67 inches 107.9 x 170. 2 centimeters signed, titled, editioned bon a tirer, dated Dec. 1978 Apr. 1979 and inscribed for Gil Literature:Pierre Theberge, Greg Curnoe: Retrospective, 1980, catalogue #152, same print reproduced page 186 Provenance:Gilbert Moll, London, Ontario By descent to the present Private Collection, London, Ontario This work is a 16-colour hand-printed silkscreen, published by Editions Canada in an edition of 30. This is the only bon a tirer copy and has been the property of the master printer from the time of its execution. Bon a tirer is a printing term meaning good to pull or good to be printed and is applied to the artist/printer's ultimate working proof, the one against which the rest of the edition will be judged. It is therefore deemed to be the perfect print by the artist in collaboration with the master printer.
