Lot 29: GRUELLE, JOHNNY

GRUELLE, JOHNNY Group of three original illustrations on board including two ink and watercolor and one pen and ink each (20 x 12 ½ in; 510 x 320 mm), two signed by the artist ("Johnny Gruelle") in lower left, corners and edges a little worn. All evidently done for publication, the subjects include a boy with his terrier surrounded by fairies against a night sky, a young girl in a summer dress on a beach and from the 1917 work My Very Own Fairy Stories, the endpaper illustrations of dwarves and fairies amidst a forested waterfall.
