NOTE

A wonderful watercolor scene of a charming snow-covered village, this illustration was also done for Baum's The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. The caption in the book reads, "'Good morning, Flossie! Tell me how you are able to walk on the snow so easily.' 'It is frozen hard,' answered Flossie. 'Perhaps,' remarked Claus, thoughtfully, 'I might now carry my pack of toys to the children.'"

The drawing is accompanied by a copy of the book.
