Ham Fisher Cartoonist (1900–1955) best known as the creator of the durable strip Joe Palooka. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Joe Palooka letterhead, August 2, 1950. Letter of thanks while recovering from an illness. In part: “I am out of the hospital and convalescing in great shape. They say I’m as healthy as a bull. I’ve got to answer over two thousand letters from pals who heard Winchell’s broadcast, so forgive the brevity.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
